Scope. SHAMS Backup is a private utility operated by the owner of this domain for that owner's backup and recovery needs. It is being configured and is not offered as a public service.
Google account access
SHAMS Backup intends to request the Google Drive drive.file permission. This permits access to specific Google Drive files created or opened with the application, rather than unrestricted access to the user's entire Drive. The authorization is for the operator's own Google account.
How Google user data is used
Authorized Google Drive access is intended solely to create, locate, read, update and delete encrypted backup repository files as needed for backup maintenance, integrity checks and restoration. The app does not use Google Drive data for advertising, profiling or training AI models.
Encryption and storage
Backup source data is intended to be encrypted locally using Restic before Rclone transfers repository files to Google Drive. Google Drive acts as a storage provider for the encrypted files; it does not receive the Restic decryption password as part of normal backup transfer. OAuth credentials are intended to be stored in restricted server configuration accessible only to the backup administrator.
Sharing and disclosure
The operator does not sell Google user data or intentionally share backup contents with unrelated third parties. Google processes stored files according to the Google services used. Information may be disclosed where legally required.
Retention and deletion
Encrypted backup snapshots are intended to be retained according to the operator's recovery policy and can be removed from the operator's Google Drive account. Revoking the application's access can stop further authorization; it does not automatically delete files already stored in Drive.
Website visitors
This informational site has no login, forms, embedded analytics scripts or advertising trackers. Its hosting provider may handle standard technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated if the application's actual data practices change. For privacy or access questions, use the app operator's user support email displayed on the Google OAuth consent screen.
